چکیده

The in vivo anti-hyperglycemic effect of non-absorbable theaflavins, polyphenolic ingredients black tea, was evaluated spontaneously diabetic Torii (SDT) rats. A mixture theaflavins (25 mg/kg/day) administered to 8-week (wk)-old SDT rats for 20 weeks, showing improve the impaired glucose tolerance 22-wk old pre-diabetic both an oral test and a plasma insulin evaluation. At 28-wk presented with increased fasting blood levels (139 ± 23 mg/dL), intake significantly (p < 0.05) reduced this (74 11 demonstrating anti-diabetic vivo. week administration induced incretin secretion compared that control, while there were no changes neither dipeptidyl peptidase-IV activity nor transporter expression. Collectively, these findings demonstrate exert anti-pre-diabetic effects by improving secretion.

Glucose Intolerance and Hyperlipidemia Prior to Diabetes Onset in Female Spontaneously Diabetic Torii (SDT) Rats

The Spontaneously Diabetic Torii (SDT) rat, a newly established animal model for diabetes mellitus, presents nonobese type 2 diabetes with ocular complications. In the present study, oral glucose tolerance tests and biochemical and histopathological examinations were performed in female SDT rats at 16 and/or 25 weeks of age, before the onset of diabetes. At 25 weeks of age, glucose tolerance wa...

Diabetes-associated complications in Spontaneously Diabetic Torii fatty rats.

The Spontaneously Diabetic Torii (SDT) fatty rat, established by introducing the fa allele of the Zucker fatty rat into the SDT rat genome, is a new model of obese type 2 diabetes. The SDT-fa/fa (SDT fatty) rat shows overt obesity, and hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia are observed at a young age as compared with the SDT-+/+ (SDT normal) rat. However, the features of the diabetic complications i...

Preventive effect of natural dietary supplement -Flavin7- on the onset of spontaneous diabetes mellitus in bio-breeding diabetes prone rats

Introduction: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the preventive effects of Flavin7 in prediabetic bio-breeding diabetes prone (BB-DP) rats. Methods: Foutthy rats were divided into 2 equal groups: group C (untreated control group) and group F7 with Flavin7 (natural dietary supplement F7 with bioflavonoids, 0.2 mg/l) in drinking water from 21st day after birth to 171st day of their ...

Effect of repeated stress in early childhood on the onset of diabetes mellitus in male Spontaneously Diabetic Torii rats.

Spontaneously Diabetic Torii (SDT) rats were discovered from SD rats and represent a confirmed spontaneous type 2 diabetes mellitus model. We investigated the effect of repeated stress in early childhood on SDT rats fed a high-fat diet, on locomotor activity and on the onset of diabetes mellitus. Regarding stress, a water immersion-restraint stress (WIRS) burden was applied 10 times every other...
